1. I cannot use MICRO-FLASH in Window 98 after installing the driver.

Cause :
You plugged MICRO-FLASH into your PC before installing driver.

2. I have several drives on my computer, when I install my EasyDisk, nothing comes up. How can I fix this?

Cause :
Hidden drive.

Solution :
Enlarge "My Computer" to full screen and refresh, or you can try your EasyDisk on a different computer to see if it works properly.

Cause : Driver Conflict.

Solution : There is a possibility that other USB devices in the first computer have conflicts with MICRO-FLASH. You need to go to the control panel, open up your device manager. At the end of the list is "Universal Serial Bus controllers" where you should see devices like USB Root Hub, USBIntel...(chipset), etc, under it. Delete Root Hub first, then the rest. The "Universal Serial Bus controllers" will then disappear. This procedure will erase all USB drivers previously installed in the system.
Reboot your computer and Windows will automatically find all your USB ports again. Once this is done, install the MICRO-FLASH driver from your CD ROM, or from our website on Windows 98SE computer, or just plug in MICRO-FLASH on the system with Windows ME, Windows 2000, or Windows XP OS.

Cause : USB disabled in BIOS.

Solution : Reboot your computer, enable USB in BIOS.

3. I cannot use MICRO-FLASH in Windows 95/NT/3.1

Cause :
OS does not support USB.

Solution :
Windows 95, NT and 3.1 does not support USB. MICRO-FLASH will work with USB 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 ports. Currently the MICRO-FLASH will work with Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux, and Max OS 9.0 or higher.

4. I have installed my MICRO-FLASH and my computer immediately locks up. What do I do?

Cause :
Conflicts with other USB devices.

Solution :
You need to go to the control panel, open up your device manager. At the end of the list is "Universal Serial Bus controllers" where you should see devices like USB Root Hub, USBIntel...(chipset), etc, under it. Delete Root Hub first, then the rest. The "Universal Serial Bus controllers" will then disappear. This procedure will erase all USB drivers previous installed in the system.

Once the MICRO-FLASH is installed, it should work fine.

You can always try your MICRO-FLASH on a different computer just to make sure it is a good drive.

5. I forgot my Login Password, is there any way to recover my data?

Solution :
No, if you forget your Login Password, you need to reformat your MICRO-FLASH and all data will be erased permanently.

6. When I insert my MICRO-FLASH, my computer tells me new hardware has been found but I don't see any new drive icon.

Cause :
The drive is hidden.

Solution :
You may need to turn on "Auto Arrange" in "My Computer" - Your icon is probably under one of the other icons or at the bottom of your page. Or you may need to refresh your screen by using the F5 key or the refresh function from the "View" section of the rule bar.

7. I have Windows 98/SE and it does not see the MICRO-FLASH?

Cause :
USB ports do not work correctly.

Solution :
You can check your "system devices" from the "Control Panel" and confirm whether your USB ports are working. If not, you need to reference/contact your motherboard or system manufacturer.

Now that you know your USB ports are working, you FIRST need to install the MICRO-FLASH driver before using the MICRO-FLASH. This can be found on your installation diskette, or can be downloaded from our website. Once this is done, you can reboot.

8. I accidentally erased data or directories from my MICRO-FLASH, can I restore them?

Solution :
Your computer sees MICRO-FLASH just like any other hard drive - unless your computer is configured to have these files moved to your recycle bin, there is no way to restore deleted data.

9. When I insert my MICRO-FLASH, my computer tells me "new hardware found" and the drive letter appears, but when I try to access the MICRO-FLASH I am told the drive has been disconnected.

Solution :
Insert the MICRO-FLASH, and before you try to access it, click on the "remove/unplug" icon in the system tray, and select to remove the MICRO-FLASH. Once your computer says it is safe to remove the MICRO-FLASH, do so and then plug it back in. The MICRO-FLASH should now function normally.
